EASY HAIRSTYLES FOR SUMMER
Summertime is always a busy time of year for all of us. The shift in weather always seems to get us up and out of the house. It’s the time of year where weddings happen more frequently, we are invited to more parties and celebrations like BBQ’s and Fourth of July, pool parties, beach days and happy hours with the girls. The list goes on and on. We already have the stress of figuring out what to wear to these events, not to mention trying to figure out what to do with your hair when its 90 degrees with 80% humidity. I am dealing with this right now being in upstate NY for the last 10 days. It made me realize if I’m struggling to figure out what to do with my hair and I’m a professional, I’m sure you all are at wits end with coming up with Easy Hairstyles For Summer activities. That prompted me to create a little blog post for you all, and hopefully it helps give you some ideas for your Easy Hairstyles For Summer. Check out what I gathered for you. Hope it helps!
Sleek and Simple
Lets face it, half the time we really don’t want to do anything with our hair when it’s this hot and humid outside. I definitely feel you on this. These are the days when you can’t even imagine pulling out an iron and curling your hair. I love a sleek and simple look for these days, it’s the most refreshing way to wear your hair and it is super simple to do. While your hair is still wet from washing it, apply a HAIR GEL, then create a deep center or side part, whichever you prefer. I personally like a center part but either will work fine. Using a DRESSING BRUSH, smooth your hair and secure into a low tight knot. I like to use these ELASTICS to secure the hair. When you finish securing, I like to finish with a hair spray. I prefer Hold Me Tight by Paul Mitchell, it keeps my hair in place all day and adds shine, but is a softer spray so I can brush it out and re work my hair for day two.
Upstyles
The easiest way to pull you hair up fast is by using a CLAW CLIP If you aren’t familiar with this, then you never grew up in the 80’s. These perfect little accessories come in different sizes so you can use them for different hairstyles and hair textures. Use the larger clips for twisting all of your hair up, and the smaller clips for pulling half of your hair back and away from your face. To create this easy up style, simply gather your hair to the back nape of your neck, and start twisting your hair wrapping it up towards the top of your head. Once the hair is twisted up, secure it into place with the claw clip. Use some hairspray to detail. Don’t worry if your front pieces fall out, that adds a little extra to the style. Nonetheless, these clips are perfect for easy hairstyles because it keeps your hair off of your face and neck keeping you much cooler for hot summer days and nights.
Scarves
If you have come to this point in your life and never used a SCARF for styling your hair, well now is the time to change that. A scarf is such a great accessory to have on hand. You can use them to create so many easy hairstyles for summer. The traditional way of covering your whole head with the scarf and tying it is a great option, but you can also use the scarf to incorporate into braids, add to ponytails and buns for a little extra. They turn a basic denim shorts and tank outfit into a cute little Sunday brunch look. I’m sharing a couple different ways to wear a scarf here. Also, to make it easier, I added a scarf that is connected to a scrunchie that takes all of the guesswork out. The sky is the limit, tie off a ponytail, a bun, a half up top knot, get creative and keep it super simple and stress free.
Braided Hairstyles
Braids are a great option for easy hairstyles for summer. That is, if you know how to braid. Not to worry though, if braiding is not your specialty, you can learn through a simple YouTube search. Be prepared, it may take a little practice, but trust me once you master even a simple three strand braid, you will open up a whole new plethora of hairstyle options. I love braiding my hair when its still damp from being washed, it ends up like two hairstyles in one because day two or three you can unravel the braids to wear a beachy texture style that will last all week. For an added flair, use some of these free people HAIR CHARMS shown below to add detail to the braid.
Accessorize
Accessorizing is probably one of the easiest way to make your hair look like you spent way more time on it than you actually did. It’s a perfect cheat for easy hairstyles. BARRETTES are easy to work with, look great, and are a go to accessory of choice for securing the hair around your face out of the way. Take a cute pearl or stone studded barrette and secure your hair in a low half up style. Allow the front pieces to fall naturally so it looks a little more lived in.
The sky is the limit when it comes to styling your hair. One of the tips I share with clients often is that you have to be sure you have the right hair products, tools and accessories to be successful with creating different styles. If you aren’t set up with proper product and tools it will make it very difficult to achieve anything but a simple down style or top knot. Of course those styles are fine too, but if you want some easy options then you will want to invest in some supplies to have on hand. Tryout some of these styles and tag me on Instagram @daniellevaliente_ , I would love to see what you create. Which style is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below.
